Growing pains

Wait

What are we to do with the silence that comes after a swift change?

Do we meddle in the process trying to rewrite what has been written?

Do we find a way to craft the change into something more palatable?

Or do we wait for the lesson to emerge?

You see, through the spurring of change we are faced with a choice

To either drag our heels in and try to no avail to stop it, or choose to see where it leads

Seems easy to do right?

Simply one foot in front of the other as we explore our new surroundings

But often when the change is exceptionally jarring lifting a foot can be excruciating

That’s when the hardest part comes…

Wait

Sometimes, when you go through change you can go through a gamut of emotions, you dip down into fear and frustration and to get out of that, you must start walking

So, wait for the cycle of change to pass over, and look at what it is that is so assaulting to your mind

Try and see what is growing from this seed of change, and understand that some seeds need to be planted deeper to sprout

So, wait

Wait amid the chaos, wait through the tears, and every time you have a wave of emotion cascade over you, ask yourself

What is this? Why do I choose to react or feel in this way?

And even if the answer doesn’t become clear just know that sometimes a seed takes a long time to take root

Remember that you need to tend to your needs, so you can make it to the surface

Even though it might not look like it, change is growth, and its up to you to decide how you are going to grow

Reach for the sun
